Here is what happened to a....a friend, yeah that's right...a friend, who was a doofus and forgot to take off the feeder can and extra box after installing a package.  ;)

Scroll down to the picture with the top box turned on end.

Man, what an idiot!

Nice, willing to bet you're not the first. The praying mantis pic just below that is awesome too by the way.

Tell your "friend" that putting crumpled newspaper around those cans help prevent that in case he would forget again in the future!!! :-D :-D

"He" should have let them finish and done a cutout demonstration at a later date.

I have never seen a mantis big enough to kill a hummingbird.  Nor did I realize they could.

I thought it was a million in one type thing. But if you search "praying mantis kills hummingbird" you can see other peoples photos of the same thing.

Once.   Left a open box over a 10 frame deep after catching a swarm late in the day thinking it would help in the catch since it was late and I would pull it off the next day.  Well, I got to it a few days later and they were building on the top cover.   Made me always think about bee space and how a swarm will build from the top down even if there drawn frames below.

Hey, just got to thinking.  This ain't on the same line as I put just water in the radiator in the truck last winter thing?
