This year I purchased 3 packages around memorial day.  They are all 3 supers high and are doing great except 1 of them.  The 1 seems to be queenless.  I did not see any eggs just capped brood and an open queen cell so I'm not too alarmed.  I suppose I'll give them a couple of weeks and if their is a queen, excellent, if not, then I guess it was never meant to be.  Anyway, I was thinking about taking some brood from maybe 2 hives, purchasing 2 queens are starting 2 nucs.  Do you think that this would be a poor decision, or does this sound like an alright move?  Thoughts?

i wouldn't that far north.  i would take that hive that you think is queenless and verify.  if it is queenless, you can combine it with one of the others and boost the numbers for winter.  you can't let them make a queen if there are no drones.  lots of us have already lost our drones so that's another thing to think about.  if they are making a queen, will you have drones in 2 weeks?  probably not.
