Thanks.  I know that it's readily available in pharmacies but I was looking for a larger volume - like one gallon containers.

Some beekeepers use FGMO to spray mist their bees against mites.  I'm just interested in putting it on the slide outs for my bottom boards.

For just oiling your slide outs, why worry about Food Grade Mineral Oil, lot of people just use kitchen vegetable oil, bees don't get into it, just the mites !

You must have many, many boards too buy in Gal. guanities ?

I've tried vegetable oils.  They invite mold growth.  I guess I'll pick up some FGMO at Walmart's on my next trip.

How the heck long to you leave them in ?

Most people leave them in for 24 hrs to check their mite count, then pull them and let the mites hit the ground.That's part of the idea of WBB's, Mites don't climb back in, they have to be attached to a bee move any distance.

Small amounts are easily available as laxative at the local pharmacy.  Larger amounts can be bought but you need to make sure it's the weight you want.

This is the place Dr. Rodriguez (the pioneer of the FGMO movement for Varroa) recommended a few years ago.

Thanks.  That's the site I found, as well.  The shipping on a gallon costs almost as much as the oil itself!  I'll visit Walmarts.  :)

Feed stores carry the larger quantities..........sometimes. With all the attention that's paid to animals these days, if it's good enough for my animals it's darn well good enough for me!

Those oils are ancient tricks in mite handlig. It is  recommended  nowhere nowadays.

Spray oil on bees! That is real missunderstanding.

What you may spray is 3% oxalic acid and no sugar.

why not just use powder sugar? the bees love it, your feeding them plus at the same time your doing a mite check to see how many you really have in your hive. plus it inexpensive :-D.you only need one cup per brood box. but don't do it if your supers are on. this if you have screen bottom.

why I have not seen that in researchers recommendations?
Grease have used on bottoms to catch mites for calculations  - long time ago.

Why to teach 10-20 y old tricks to young beekeepers.
