I've been intrigued by the idea of keeping bee's for several months. Reading things online, books, attending beekeeper association meetings.

Hoping to build/setup my first hive in the spring.

Welcome to the site!

If you are planning on ordering bees for next spring, I would do it now. Don't wait. Those suppliers book up fast.

welcome and why wait, find somebody to sell you a nuc from the local club, you should start with a minimum of three hives, if you buy from somebody who treats then you will have to treat, step off the edge, the water is fine
good luck

Welcome to the forum.   :cheer:

If your hesitation is from doubt, talk to the people in your club and let them know you are looking for a mentor. Most mentors will let you work their hives beside them so you can learn and become comfortable around 40 to 200 thousand bees.

A word of warning: beekeeping is fun (IMHO) and addictive.  Let us know how you are doing and feel free to post pictures and ask questions. We like to help other beekeepers.  -Mike

Listen to others but make your own decisions. That way you own the results.
