Planning for next spring, I would like to have a package of Carniolans. Any recommendations, I am located in the Piedmont of North Carolina?

Only Carni packages I know of come from the west coast.

You may do better getting whatever is closer, save on shipping, then requeening later in the spring when better queens are produced. Who cares where you get a package? Most are early spring questionable queens, and should probably be requeened from a breeder providing quality queens, and far better than what you can get in packages.

I think that Tate's Apiaries in the Winston Salem area have Carni's.  Larry Tate is the owner.

Sure Tate's has them.  His number is 336-788-4554.  Nice to work with too.

Is this the Tates apiary that is being mentioned?

If it is, I think it should be acknowledged that calling Tates does not mean your buying Carolina raised carni bees. Just packages shipped in from California.

Well then who is the Tate that sells carni packages? That is what the original poster wanted. And what I thought we were talking about.

Does Larry Tate have a website?
