Hi everyone, my name is Steve and I'm from the state of Kansas (north of Wichita).  Just checking in to say hi to everyone and I'm taking the plunge this year into the world of bees.

I have gardened nearly my whole life and over the years my gardens have went from having bees everywhere to now it being almost a newsworthy event if I see one.....how sad.  So I have decided to do something about it and join the ranks of everyone here to do my part and sustain one of natures most important pollinators.  I look forward venturing into the world of bees and I will be starting with one hive this year (10 frame) and see where it goes from there.  There is no doubt I will be expanding in the future and I have my beekeeping supply house on speed dial if need be.  LOL.

So hello everyone and I look forward to such a wonderful forum.

"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag...We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language...And we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

Theodore Roosevelt 1907
