Greetings from the NC mountains!

So glad to find this forum! My husband's family had a few bee hives in their tiny city backyard when he was a boy, so he's less of a greenhorn than I am. We live in a rural area with two ponds on our property and have always had visiting bees; we've been talking about getting our own for a couple of years and are taking the plunge this year. We are excited! Randy attended the first of two bee classes today (in another county), and we'll start attending our own county's bee meetings next month. We'll be looking for all kinds of tips in order to be bee-smart some day :)
