I was to the picnic last year free of charge.I think what he meant was he'd rather have the whole group together for a picnic and discussing topics of choice rather than pay 600 for an hour or two of a speakers time. I can see where he's coming from.
The Penn Apic picnic was open to all beekeepers,members or not and wanna be beekeepers.A good deal for people to meet and talk bees. :)

The picnic program continues to evolve. We have added a gold prospecting and panning demonstration to the day's activities. Attendees can give a try in seeing if they can pan for gold. Should be e blast!
