Bee Curious

I live in a near north suburb of Chicago, am an avid gardener, volunteer at the Chicago Botanic Garden, and hope to start my first hive Spring '13.  In the meantime, I am reading all the great stuff online, borrowing armfuls of bee books from my local library, and having a grand time learning about the marvelous world of bees.  Bee people seem to be open and friendly and I hope to find someone in my area to learn from or with.   :bee: :bee: :bee:

Welcome to the forum, there is plenty here a person can pick up on.  You can watch videos here and on you tube.  Also see if there is a local bee club, they can help.
Good luck.

Hello and Welcome!

I'm sure you'll find this forum to be an informative place to learn more about bees and beekeeping.

Joe is right - find a local bee club. Clubs often offer beginning beekeeping classes and are great places to find mentors and get connected to nearby beekeepers. Check here:
