The 13th of this month I grafted 5 cell cups and put them into a nuc that had a laying worker as a test, and posted the question about them making queen cells on here. Well they took to it and everything looked good for several days and they capped on schedule. I then left one behind to see if it would stop the laying worker and was chewed open way to early to have emerged. I put one in a freshly made nuc and thought she would emerge the 24th or 25th. I checked today and still capped, upon real close inspection there was nothing in it. Any thoughts on this?

I have read and been told meany times that the bees often recap the queen cell after she has emerged. I'd be interested if anyone can confirm this.

They only recap them when there is still a queen in them.
