mouse guards

for those of you that use mouse guards I found a new, easy and effective material.  Its the aluminum mesh used to give cultured stone something to grip to.  It 5.00 for a 3 X 8 ft pc at Lowes and the holes are about 1/2 X 3/8.   It cuts easy and is east to bend.  I simply cut strips and stapled the over the entrance

I was thinking of using hardware cloth. Any one else used it before an what size?

I have always used hardware cloth but 1/4 is to small and 1/2 is to big.  What I did was fold 1/2 so the holes didn't line up reducing the size to about 1/2 wide by 3/8 high.   3/8 is the size I want and that what this aluminum mesh is plus its cheaper

I use 1/4 inch my small call- natural cell bees get thru.
