Colony on a tree limb.

Word has gotten out of work but I'm a beekeeper. Today a guy approached me about a Colony that has built comb on a tree limb. I have never heard of European honey bees doing this. He says that there 5 combs for honey. This sounds almost too good to be true. He also says that there are large number of honey bees. I know I could be a late year swarm but I was also concerned that they could be Africanized. Has anyone seen European honey bees do this?

Yes I think I posted pictures of one that I got last year. They started as a softball size swarm and grew in 2 months to be bigger than a football. A very gentle hive. I will see if I can find the post. I think I did it as an Open Air Hive.
