I put sugar candy boards on my hives when I wrap them up for the winter.  Robo posted instructions and a recipe here: http://www.beemaster.com/beebbs/viewtopic.php?p=5506&highlight=#5506

  I think I posted on the wrong one...  Question about a candy frame.

Sorry.

Everyone said it couldn't be done. But he with a chuckle replied, "I won't be one to say it is so, until I give it a try."  So he buckled right in with a trace of a grin.  If he had a worry he hid it and he started to sing as he tackled that thing that couldn't be done, and he did it.  (unknown)

you shouldn't feed hives during flows or the warm month's (unless you are raising queens or increasing hive populations for splitting), these are mostly used during winter month's as emergency feed, these will attract ants and other bugs during warm month's......

here's a fondant recipe I have tried,

If you feed candy be sure to have a water source just as you would for powdered sugar.
