Just installed two nucs into hives in my back yard. My first bees! They're itty-bitty and well-behaved (so far). Didn't find the queen from either batch but wanted to get them in the boxes and let them start acclimating as soon as possible. Both nucs had brood, though one had considerably more, and one even had a little honey stored. Feeding them sugar syrup and looking forward to my first year as a beek!

Congrats on your bees. If you are like me and just figured a few hives will give me all the honey I needed(YA Right!!) think again. Friends and relatives start asking if you sell any and then next thing you know is you have 20 plus hives and and can't keep enough honey for the masses!    Sheer insanity!  :-D Got to love it.

More to be desired are they than gold, yea ,than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.

Congrats on your bees.  It is fun but I think it is an addiction also.  I have to go by my hives everyday and some days several times.  I like just watching them come and go, during warm weather bearding, etc.  Good luck to you and your bees.

Blanc, I had people asking for honey before I even had the bees, as you can well imagine! Alas, the city restricts me to two hives in my yard, so I won't be able to go into mass production. I figured on this as a money-taker from the start, not a money-maker, but I also figured it would be money well spent. Thanks for the encouragement!
