Been helping my hubby with bees for over a year.  This spring, March 18th I got my own hive, I've helped with a cut out and helped capture a swarm all without getting stung.  So just not enough experience I guess....

In the last 24 hours I've been stung on the eye lid and collapsed a comb trying to shake some nurse bees into my nuc split.

So now I've got some experience on my side how many mistakes do I have to make before the association sends me my bee card

:-D

I've been messing things up for 5 years now and still waiting for mine.  😄

Oh I'm sure I mess up more but they say you learn from mistakes so I figure getting popped in the eye was a way to start the learning process.

When they stop stinging you on a regular basis your there.
most often i find my greatest source of stress to be OPS  ( other peoples stupidity )

It is better to keep ones mouth shut and be thought of as a fool than to open ones mouth and in so doing remove all doubt.

I've been beekeeping for 20 years and am still getting stung. First sting around the eye gives you at least a novice bee card. Next good sting gets it punched. After 10 punches you are certified  :-D :-D

Some would say certifiably insane....but thats just another requirement to earning the beek card.

You're not a Bee Keeper until the Bees initiate you. The first package I ever opened in my life I had a bee fly straight to my nose (5 seconds or less)! Welcome to Bee Keeping the little Bee told me!
