Hi there! I'm currently apprenticing and learning all I can about beekeeping. I found this forum thanks to Linda's bee blog. I'm still figuring out how to maneuver around this forum, but it sounds like its a great reference to use and I hope to learn a ton!

Welcome to the forum, Beetific.  With your apprenticing you are probably picking up a lot already.  There are loads of threads and videos here that can also help.  Good luck and beek is very addictive.

Welcome, Beetific! Are you apprenticing with a commercial keeper?

JPinMo, no, just a hobbyist. He has 30 hives spread out around town and on people's farms, but there are 12 at his house that I get to interact with.

And Mike: just as a hobby. There are numerous reasons for it but mostly, I just had a daughter, and I firmly believe that raising her around bees will instill in her a lot of great values: symbiosis of humans and nature, taking care of those things smaller than us, the importance of agriculture and organic farming practices, work ethic, each individual has a purpose, the importance of community and each person's separate value to society, etc. and of course the amazing properties of bee pollen, royal jelly, propolis, and honey!
