free protein for chickens - gross

Yall gonna love this (or not). A friend of mine ask me every now and then to give him some of the critters I kill around here. He said the reason he wants them is he plans to throw them on top of the chicken pen. Flies will get to the dead animals, lay eggs, have maggots. He said the maggots will start crawling around and fall out. Then the chickens can eat them.

sounds reasonable to me and he probably gets more from the carcass than if he'd just ground it up and fed it.  but...a little stinky?
