I am in Central Arkansas Zone 7.
I got up this morning and it was 51degrees F.
By noon it was 36 degrees F and falling.
Right now it's 830PM and 22 degrees F and falling to around 11F tonight.
High tomorrow (Monday) is near 18F and a wind chill of -8F.
Just thought I'd warn ya'll folks east and northeast of us to hang on to yer drawers.
I fed my bees the other day and haven't went deep into my hives yet.
I'll probably do that next week, it's suppose to be 52 degrees F   Thursday.
Ole man Winter just don't want to leave.

Ya I'm getting worried that I may have lost a few hives in the weather.  I had a couple that were pretty quiet today. I'm not going to assume they are dead until it warms up and I can see that they are dead.  Would be really disappointing if I did lose two of my three remaining production hives.
Keeping bees since 2011.

Also please excuse the typos.  My iPad autocorrect can be brutal.

Wasn't not in the 50s in January for about 7 to 10 days in central New England how soon we forget. Now February is a complete different store

I hope we do not have another cold snap this week. I just grafted 40 Q cells on Sunday. It is supposed to be rainy but low of around 50.

You intending to sell some queens this year, Jim, or are these for your use?

RC,
That depends on how many hatch. Half of them belong to my mentor who is training me. She will probably sell some of them also. I already have requests for 12 Q's. If you are interested, PM me with how many you need. I am selling them as virgin hatched Q's. I recommend that it be a pickup. I can start another batch but it will be after this weekend. Bee college is this weekend.
