Do your bees eat grease?
I watch my girls almost daily. today while watching i noticed girls rubbing themselves in axle grease.
this is what we did for ant control. nails under the bottom board with grease slathered heavily around the nail.
at least 10 girls did this while watching. Anyone seen this behavior before?
this is the weakest of three hives.

Now you know why they are the weakest.  :-D
I have not seen it.
An old trick to help treat mites is to make grease patties with Crisco oil and sugar and put it on the top of the frames. The bees would get it on them and it was supposed to mess the mites up.
