So I went to check my hive today and when I removed one of the frames, the comb full of beautiful brood fell off the frame and broke into 2 pieces. I was horrified. I am very new and didn't know what to do so I put it back in as closely to the way it was as I could. I really don't know if I did the right thing or if I just royally screwed it up. I am feeling so frustrated and like I am doing everything wrong. What should I have done and can I fix it if I did the wrong thing?

you did right. did you use rubber bands or twine to hold it in place?  look at some of the cutout videos to see how to do it if you have questions, but it's pretty simple.  you either wrap rubber bands or twine around the frame enough to hold the comb in.  make sure you have put it in the way it was (right side up) and they'll fix it.

and there is no right or wrong for most things.  there is what works for you.  if you mess something up, it's a learning experience.

Oh thank goodness. I was worried about it all day! I didn't have anything with me to hold it back on but it was back in the right order and right side up. Guess I should add rubber bands to my maintenance kit. Also feeling like I'm just going to leave them alone for a little while so I don't piss them off again.  ;). Thanks kathyp.

Yep, as KathyP says.

I use mostly plastic foundation, but I also have some foundationless frames in use.  It's easy to turn those frames the wrong way when the comb is fresh and end up with the comb on the ground.  Don't worry the bees tolerate a lot of screw ups :)
