Hello everyone. My name is Sarah Plonski and I've been beekeeping for about a year now. I am currently in the process of moving from beekeeping hobbyist to full fledged apiarist. My partner and I have seven hives at the moment, but we are expanding to two new beeyards and will be nearly doubling our hives by the end of the summer, all with the hopes of abandoning our day jobs and spending our lives catching bees, selling honey, and educating folks about the incredible honey bee.

I am a proud member of the Philadelphia Beekeeper's Guild, and try to be as active in the community as I am in the beeyard. I also maintain a beekeeping blog (called sarah plus bees), which has become a great passion of mine!

This seems like a wonderful online community, and I look forward to sharing and learning from you all!

Welcome to the forum Sara. Love your area. I was raised in Levittown. I especially love the Washington Crossing area. Spent most of summers at my aunts farm was on 532, right up the road from the park.

Welcome to the forum, glad you have arrived, and good luck with your hopes with the bees.  I suppose the Philadelphia is in Pa., a lot of states have one.  Bud's is just a little ways from one down here.

Hi Sarah, nice to have another female beekeeper on the forum.

I started beekeeping in 2006 with 1 hive and have kept on average 4-6 hives. Now I am doing only 2 which keeps me happy and I don't feel overwhelmed.

Good luck with the beekeeping business. You will get lots of help here on the forum

Take care
Annette
