Found the queen,and more!!!

I opened it up today to see all the beautiful new girls. And to my surprise, I saw her. So big and beautiful. My first time finding a queen. But no drones this time, they must have all died since 4-19 install. And now something else I saw, a big huge cockroach  :(  It was fast and inside the box with the frames. I killed it immediately. Has anybody ever found one in there hive?

 I occasionally get a spider living under the outer cover. When I had the hive open a couple weeks ago, a fly kept landing on the frames. Each time it landed, one or two bees charged at it.

Oh yeah, I wouldn't worry about the cockroach. Congrats on finding the queen.

I occassionally see one between the inner cover and telescoping top. smash it. Havent caught one in the hive. Once another hatch of brood comes and the box is thicker with bees, I doubt he will make it into the box. Have fun. Congrats on seeing your Queen. G  :chop:

Ok, that's a relief. And thanks, she really was easy to find compared to the virgin queens that I took pictures of and didn't see them.

If only you had a cage and a marking pen to mark her handy you'd be able to spot her easily from now on too.
