Moving hives 400 yards

I wanted to run this by you folks with experience. I'm considering moving a couple of my hives about 3-4 hundred yards. That'll get them about 300 yards from a cotton field. I'm not sure they're working it so my thinking was they would re-orient, find the cotton, and make me some honey.

The flip side of my thinking is, they'll probably go to the field, recognize where they're at, come back to the old home place, and be lost as cooter brown. Any suggestions? Leave well enough alone? They're probably working it anyway. Thanks.

700 yards is really close. If they really are not working it, it is because there is something better in the area. Your scouts are always out looking for the best nectar and pollen.

Thanks yall. That was 'bout what I was thinking.

Stay where you are. They have already found it at 700 yds. I would worry that spray would drift if you got close to the field.
