Hey everyone,

My name is Michael and I am new. I am going to be starting some new hives in the beginning of 2015 and have been looking for some expert advice and friends to help me help my bees. I am really excited about it and kind of just want to talk bees. I am lucky to have a beautiful wife who is also interested in beekeeping and, of course, the glorious treats that come along with it. I look forward to hearing from some of you, and getting to know all of you.

Welcome to the forum and to beekeeping.  I'm no expert but that doesn't stop me from giving advice and thus leaving no doubt in anyone's mind that I'm not one.  :-D

Having your wife interested in the bees is a big WIN-WIN.  It's easier to get purchase requests past the CFO that way! ;)

Hey Ed,

Thanks for responding, and yeah it is pretty nice having my wife interested. We have already priced most of the supplies that we will need and set up our purchase groups. She has been a Godsend. She has also reeled in my enthusiasm a few times and reminded me that I don't even have a hive yet. Regardless of how much you know you still know more than me, and as long as it is good advice for my success I welcome it with open arms.

Welcome.  I am new on here also. Been a great place to get information on various questions.  I started with 4 hives this year. All 4 are as different as night and day!  Next year, hopefully up to 8.....or maybe 80!  It is an addicting venture!
