First thing is open ya wallet and let the money fly away like a swarm of bees but dont tell her indoors how much it costs to get started  then settle down and start to grow your apiary I started 16 months ago and now have 15 hives 6 in the back yard I got 28 kg,s of honey last satdy so bee prepaired for some bee days but soak it up and go with the flow it is a rewarding hobby least thats what I tell her
Every day the sun shines and gravity sucks= free energy

My wife will pour untold hours and up to $800 USD into a quilt she is going to give away and I am expected to make my beekeeping pencil out!  Small matter really.  If you are handy with wood, you can make the boxes, bottom boards and covers.  The frames are best left to a factory in my opinion.  Remember that selections of beekeeping apparatus sold together are seldom the cheapest way to go.  I suppose it is spring and time to start down under so you best get at it!  No excuse going thru another years without bees.

have sourced a native stingless hive which was my main goal.

the honey bees have not been a big importance but i can see that i will end up with a hive very soon lol
