Our first frost annual date is Oct. 13th.
It came a few days early this year and signals the end of most forage.
I've been ahead of the bee's for a change, looking for a break in the action soon!
It's going to be a long winter in my neck of the woods.

Wow!!  It was 92 degrees here in south Georgia yesterday and will be in the low 90's again today.  We usually don't have a good frost till Thanksgiving.

Sweating to death this afternoon.   Hoping for a chill to make the deer move a bit in morning but not frost.

Still fairly warm here also, and in my area deer archery season opens this coming Wednesday.  I did get some squirrels last weekend.

Coool and rainy here this weekend, Imagine that, was planning on going thru all hives, guess I will have to take my medicine when I do it tomorrow while its overcast. Got to be done. Made shims and have feed bags ready, tired of watching the endless fighting. They cant figure out the robber screens but still try, what a wasted effort, and still casualties. hopefully this will remedy that situation and I can plan on getting something different for next fall should the need arise. Should have climbed a tree today, I think I will just wait for Black powder. Nov. 1. Good luck to you all. G :chop:

Just scraped the frost from my windshield a few minutes ago......  Hope it isn't going to be as cold this winter.

Almost cold enough for frost here and to top it off, its been very wet, raining a lot and right during the goldenrod. Warm enough to eat good, yet rainy enough to stay put. I might have to feed, again.

All the syrup feeding should be done here by Oct. 1st.
They need some time to dry it out before the really cold weather comes.
We normally start our feeding along with the fall Goldenrod flow.
When there is more feed than they can consume, they tend to store more.
The thought is to pour it to them all at once and be done with it.

Im not done feeding yet.   Just picked up another 120#s this morning

I finished syrup feeding two weeks ago. Time to watch some football for a change.
