Just joined this morning thought I would find a few local beekeepes on line to find info on starting but the whole world jumped into my lap. Im retired  Live in northern GA on lookout mountain. Going to start with 2 red cedar hives this spring. Now i`m just trying to learn as much as possible before spring . Looks like a very interesting site should learn alot  :)

Welcome.  There are many here with sage advice and wisdom, and there are a bunch of us new bees trying to get started.

It is a life long learning activity, but the basics are fairly easy to get.  There are many online tutorials and books available.  The search isn't the easiest to use, but it seems that every topic has been discussed on here one way or another.  Don't be afraid to ask questions.

The phrase "beekeeping is local" is used often.  Please update your profile so the advice you receive can be tailored to your location better.

Welcome again,

Mark

Wackytracker,
You have know idea how consumed by this adventure you will become. The gang on this forum has become a second family as most here remember the time just starting bees. Enjoy the ride! :)
