Two caught swarms this weekend

I caught two swarms this weekend and just missed a third, (property owners called when the swarm was leaving).  Bees are really flying in southwest Georgia.  How is it looking in your area?

i've got a light flow on but no signs of bees prepping to swarm.  i went through all  my hives over the weekend and gave the strong ones space to keep building up.  drone brood but no drones.

100 miles between you two. And the difference is noticeable in swarm timing. I suppose that shouldn't surprise me by now but it still does. We are no where near swarm season here in SW TN.

Two weeks ago, it was cold and there was snow on the ground.  I had gone in my one hive to see how they were doing, and there was honey "wall to wall."  After about a week of consistent warm temps I went in this afternoon and they are brooding up, but no queen cups, no swarm cells, and some capped drone brood.

I got a nice swarm yesterday over in a Warner Robins residential area. It was about soccer ball size.

Here in Central Arkansas we're usually a couple of weeks behind ya'll in Georgia and south Louisana.
I had a lot of capped brood and seen a few Drones walking around and a lot of capped Drone cells in some of the hives.
I'm putting out Swarm Traps this weekend and putting an ad in the local paper and on craigslist for Swarm removal.
Things are happening fast now.

I put out 1/2 dozen swarm traps this past weekend here in Kentucky.    It hit the upper 70's  one day last week and it really seemed to put everything into "spring fever".     Even one of my staff told me she had come down with "anal glaucoma".    I said what?   She said that she didn't see her butt at work with the warm temperatures.    LOL  :embarassed:  Hopefully I don't offend anyone with that joke but I thought some of the rest of us may have it as well.    Goodbye winter 2015!!! :cool:
