Looks like this would be suitable only so long as the bee stays outside the hive.  The antenna, it seems, would become lodged in the comb if the bee went into the hive.  Maybe it's more fexible than it appears.???

Looks like it is so big that they had to use a carpenter bee.
There is another model that I have seen that is smaller, has a much larger range than this and it is designed for honey bees.
