OK I have a ventilated jacket and zip on veil. All of the sudden I realized that I had 5 or 6 bees inside the veil. Any idea where I have a hole? It was zipped and I did not feel any inside the jacket. The fabric is not ripped.

How close to the bees were you when you suited up? I've unzipped my veil before because of semi calm bees and heat. However when I flipped it back on I'd had company...

Did you seal up the flap that covers up the point where the 3 zipper meats?

I suited up in the house because when I first went to check on the hives I walked by them without opening them and got stung on the tip of my nose. I did the best I could with the Velcro over the zipper intersection.

I had bees in my veil twice in five minutes. The first time I just thought I didn't have everything tight or completely closed. I took my hood off so quick when it was safe that I wasn't sure. Went back to work, and had bees in their again right away. It took me a bit to find it, but there was a slit where the mesh met the cloth fabric of the hood.

I was really amazed at how fast more bees could find it again though. I think I took about 7 stings to one locality.

Now I wonder if they don't have a special "here's the weak spot guys" pheromone.

I have had some go up under the jacket, but only when I have been doing something like a cut out and a lot of reaching.

I've had a problem at one time or another with:

- a tear in the screen of the veil - the screen just got weak and I could actually inadvertently put a finger through it.
- a seam at the base of the hood hood that lost its stitching. After this one, I carefully inspected all of the seams on the suit (and found another weak spot) and re-stitched them.
- forgetting to completely zip the hood all the way around.

A month or so ago I forgot to zip one side that was pretty bad... But that was not the case here. I will have to do an inspection on all the seams.

If all the seams and the screen are intact, the next weak spot is under the velcro flap, where the zips meet.  On mine, I have to zip the front first, then the left side veil zipper, then the right side.  It is the only way that the zipper gaps all close without a gap. Only then will the velcro flap close properly.  If I don't go through this same process every time, I get gaps, and company.

My jacket seems to ride up my back a lot and sometimes I feel whispery creeping on my back. Eeks lol I pull the back down quite a bit. I was thinking of sewing a strap between my legs from the back to the front to keep it down.
