Hi Guys: I would like a site or information as to what to mix with my mineral oil spray to kill or control the mites
I have seen the thymol being used with winter green but don't know the correct mixture.I don't want to use to much and kill my bees! Thanks,Bill

If you have a screened bottom board you can just dust the bees with powdered sugar on the bees to get rid of some nights but depending on how many hives you have you could just not treat to get rid of sick hives and helping the strong healthy hives.

Or you could just not treat and get more bees.  Oh, yeah, I tried that already.

Sorry, I just spent the evening at an event attended by about 100,000 people, sponsored by the city of Dallas as being the biggest thing ever, and it was a total waste of time and my shoe rubbed my foot wrong and I'm feeling cranky, so I took it out on you by being sarcastic.

That is what motivates us, sometimes, to be mean to others.  i really do apologize.

Blacksheep, read what Iddee has posted about oxalic acid, or see Randy Oliver's website about OA.  wintergreen oil is dangerous to mess with.  Not for the bees. FOR YOU.

Thanks guys!As of now I have about 75 bucks in the sprayer and mineral oil!I sprayed them once with just the oil and have sugar dusted them once.It is getting late to use anything else as the temps are going to be cold at night and warm in the day time here.\
My bee have slowed in taking the sugar syrup  and I guess candy will be applied soon.
I had light ice on my windshield this morning at 5 am so bee will be staying in the hive till later in the morning.

Gee, our weather is still in the 50s at night and 90s for a high.  I thought TN weather was closer to
Ours than that.  We're at about the same latitude as Atlanta, so I guess being that far north (and higher elevation) makes a lot of difference.

Hi Yes it is cooler here in this part of Tennessee which is in the lower cumberland mountains and we are at elevation close to 800 foot above sea level so it is cooler as it was 37 this AM got up to 65 and and was really windy.

Okay, kinda have you situated.  Sister-in-law lives in Fairfield Glade.

Cooler weather, if it is above freezing is the best time to use OAV, because there is less brood and more mites are impacted.
39 Hives and growing.  Havent found the end of the comfort zone yet.

Hi Guys: I have been trying to find the correct formula for adding Thermal crystals to the spray  with mineral oil!I have ordered some crystals and need to know the correct amount to put in the fogger canister.I think I will try to contact the Fat Beeman and see what he uses other than mineral oil.
