I had a very large swarm land on my swarm trap.  They are now hanging off the bottom (several hours later).  Should I leave them alone and see if they go in or try and shake or scoop them in hoping to get the queen

I would be out there getting them now. Any minute may see them gone.

A person would be there at sunrise. Put them in a standard 10 frame or 8 frame box with frames. Also I would bring 2 boxes with frames.

I'd say they've chose it as a staging area - not a home. Get 'em now.

Thanks for the suggestions - as of this morning they are still hanging on.  If they are there when I get off work it's looking like I'll have to help them in.

Out of curiosity how would you get them? I know of two feral hives right now that are pretty tame.

swarms and hives are not the same. swarms have little or no comb. cut out the the feral hives put the egg in a new box.
If they bump you lots when fully suited maybe they are not right for you
