OA How much

How much OA would you use for a 8 frame medium brood box. I want to vap my newly installed packages of bees but am not sure how much to use. I plan on doing it on day 6 or 7 after the install. Thanks

Usually it's one gram per brood box but never more than 2 grams.

If this is a package I wouldn't vaporize them just yet. Give them a chance to call it home first, i.e. open larva. The brood break will set the mites back some. Sometimes when I OA vap them they get pretty agitated.

I did Vaporize 1 hive. I waited until almost dark after most had returned to the hive. I noticed the next day that hive seemed to be a lot more active then the other 2. They were coming and going most of the day but were caring little pollen back to the hive. I guess they must of been bring water in to try and wash that crap off themselves.
