Langstroth Hive Spacing

Hi,

I want construct a 8 frame langstroth hive, but i have a few questions mainly regarding the spacing of everything. To start out I will be making two deep boxes and two medium boxes, where the two deep boxes will be on the bottom and the, two medium will be on top, so four boxes total. I have already purchased the frames. Deep frames height are 9 1/8" and medium frames height are 6 1/4" (frames are also 19" long and 1 3/8" wide), what do you think the height of the boxes should be to give me correct spacing when they are stacked on each other. Also, if you can give me the best total dimensions of each box that would also be great as well. I was thinking the width to be 12 1/2", the length to be 19 7/8"and unsure of the heights. 

For the bottom board i want to use screen, but again I am unsure of what the spacing should be from the bottom of the lowest frames to the top of the screen? Right now the plan I was thinking the screen would be 3/8" down from top of bottom board then plus whatever the spacing of the deep frames. This gap seems that it would be alot bigger than the spacing between the frames from box to box.

Hopefully I explained myself somewhat understandable, any help would greatly appreciated.

For the 8 frame boxes, I made mine 13" wide(outside dimension).  There is some difference between manufactures on that dimension.

A deep box is officially supposed to be 9 5/8".  Most of them on the market now are 9 1/2".  A deep frame is officially supposed to be 9 1/4".  Most are now 9 1/8".  A medium box is officially supposed to be, and almost always actually is, 6 5/8".  A medium frame is officially supposed to be, and almost always is, 6 1/4".
