I have had a string of rough days so I went and watched and examined my hives. It lifted my mood. Does anyone else do this?

Nugget Shooter

Yes, calms me after a long day to just sit and watch or do bee chores, building new boxes etc. also has the same effect.....

Cedar Hill

Been doing it for years.    Chair is right next to the hives, best remedy for any day, whenever you have the time.    OMTCW

I'm going to my beeyard every day if my schedule lets me. There is no necessary to examine... "The hive smell" in the air is calm me down.

Yeah I have sat on my lunch break under my peach tree and just watched them take off and forage. I go as often as time permits.

It's called Bee-TV

Same here, something about the interaction produces a calming effect. I seen where folks have posted something like this several times.

My hives are maybe 50 yards from my house so I go out there a lot with a cup o' whatever and sit and watch. The buzz, drone, and hum makes it feel like you're stepping into another world. It Always improves my mood. lol
I'd rather be playing with venomous insects
GO BEES!

Rurification

That hive smell does it for me every time.   I love watching the hives.

Cup o' whatever LOL

Home yard hives are 10 feet from the back door and my kegerator is about 10 feet in the other direction....I tend to have home brewed beer in my cup quite often ;-)

But watching the Hives is the best sort of Happy Hour

Most of the year my hives are in my back yard not far from my bedroom and bathroom Windows. I used to check on them day and night, kept a flashlight in the bathroom. When I come home from work, the first thing I do is check on my hives including the observation hive. I hate going in the back yard when they are all at the farm on gallberry. This year, as soon as I took them to the farm, I cought 2 swarms in my traps. That was nice. Gave me some hives to check. I use the oil tray and the screen top board to see what is happening with out disturbing them.
