Though it seems hard to find real good information on keeping bees in our Southwestern Deserts and for me mainly Arizona with some searching it is out there and I found this very informative as well as just a good read. Helped me allot from hive placement to honey extraction which was very welcome seeing how our deserts require beekeepers to think outside the norm some....

Nice info, I'll need more time to digest it.  We know all beekeeping is local, but general guidelines are good.  I've noticed that much of the reference material is written from a more northern standpoint.  The basic bee math is the same, but seasons and methods all need to be adjusted for the South.  Of course, not all sources are worth reading in the first place.  For example, I picked up a newly published book the other day and it talked about varroa (and essential oil treatments ), but didn't even acknowledge that SHB exist.
