I need to check my hives bad to see if I can put the honey supers on. The problem is that we do not need to check bees when the weather is rough so how much time before bad weather is ok to check bees?

Michael Bush

If you really need to check them you can check them.  If you know the weather will be nicer tomorrow, you can wait.  If you know it won't be any nicer tomorrow, then just do it.

I think it will be bad all week. They are calling for 4 plus inches of rain. I am just going to get in real early tomorrow and check them

Early, like before all the foragers have left, so all the girls will be home to greet you?  Might want to think about that a bit, eh?

The BEST time to check the bees is when they are busy and flying and the weather is wonderful and there is a flow.  You don't always GET the best time, but sometimes you can count on that so it's worth the wait.  The more active they are the better...

dang, I missed that. and, it'll probably miss us. I can leave Montgomery and drive in rain up until about 2.5 miles from the house, then it'll be dry as a bone.

I pulled some honey the other day when it was lightening a little ways off. They went absolutely crazy.

So far at my house we have had 2.5 inches of rain on just Monday and Tuesday and where my hives are have had more.

GSF

Zero at my house other than a very light sprinkle. Not enough to wet the ground under a tree or drip from the roof.

You guys are making the rest of us jealous!  We've had no rain to speak of in months.  100+ every day lately.  Bees are fighting over water

That emoji is supposed to be a wink, though it's hard to tell.
