Obviously what I have read is more of a suggestion rather than hard and fast rule.  Temperatures of 45 deg f or so is generally what it takes to get a bee out to take cleansing flights....at least that is what it heard.

My bees fly at 30deg or so.  Very bizarre to go out and see so many....20/30 or so flying in front of the hive.  I see some don't make it as they will fall on the snow an try to get back up.  A little too cold.

Maybe I should put a book about bees by the hive so they can read what they are supposed to do.
You are what you think.

It is supposedly 46 degree here.  I just went and looked at the hive entrance and saw zero movement.  I guess my bees didn't read the book on the other side of that coin.

Well that would be complicated although with the federal Gov't's program of "No bee left behind" they should have the skills.

If there's snow on the ground, it's almost certain that it's the sunlight being reflected off the snow which is tempting them out.  Under snowy conditions it's good practice to lean 'snow boards' in front of the entrance, to prevent reflections from the snow reaching the bees, whilst still allowing some ventilation.

Hahahaha!   If that would only work!   There are a few things I'd like my bees to do the way they're 'supposed to' do.
