So i got told by someone that there is a wild colony up on a hill known as snake hill in my local town. So i went up there and had a look and it was in fact a wild beehive, it was located in a very small cave, the opening was a little smaller than the size of a bed pillow and would have gone in about 40cm (about 16 inches for yous yanks, don't worry i've got you covered😆) into the cave. What i am worried about is that the small hive wouldn't be able to store much honey in that small space, and i am worried that they won't survive over the winter, albeit short (about 3 weeks that will effect the bees). Now i am all for natural hives in our local town because we have none of the pests that the rest of the world has (no afb, no efb, no shb, no varroa etc) and i believe that natural hives increases diversity and resistence to diseases which would be a win for our local area, but this little hive is also getting vandalised, it is on a hill where a lot of youths hang out and you can see that bottles and rocks have been pelted at the exposed comb. So I need peoples opinions, should i save it or leave it be?🤔

Just my personal opinion but, under normal conditions I would say leave it alone.  In this case with the vandals in the area, it would probably be better to remove the bees before someone gets hurt and the bees are killed.

That's what is was thinking, i love wild hives but i don't want the bees to get hurt and eventually killed , thank you for you input😀

Most likely another swarm will move in and you can continue to take them also.
