I observed my bees today. It is kinda warm. There was a lot of bees our on the hive. I did not go in the hive as it is almost Thanksgiving and was not ready for it. I was wondering if they had not thinned down their hive yet or is this normal for a warm fall.

Have you had a hard frost to kill off the flowers? Are you still feeding 1 to 1?
If the bees are still bring in food, they probably have not cut back on numbers.

How much is a lot? I had several hives that had a bunch of bees flying and hanging out in front of my hives.  They were doing orientation flights.  I assume that these were probably some of the last hatched brood for the season.

We have not had hard frosts yet but I can't see anything blooming or any pollen to be had. Perhaps it was orientation flights but they were mainly just hanging out.
