Can't post pic.
Has anyone seen Q move up on top of sugar cake?

Dallasbeek

I take it you did, but can't post a picture.  Must have been exciting.

Email the picture to your self and set the picture to either medium or small. Then use that picture that you receive.

Queens USUALLY are in the middle of the brood nest.  Occasionally they may be anywhere in the colony and I've even seen them outside on the hive or even in the hive next door... just not often.

Q's , move around the hive ?

MikeyN.C.

I thouthough Q's usually stay with cluster.  Temp. swings 60 - 70f. nights swinging to 30s to 40s.   2:1 started to get to cold

Queen will be back in cluster before temp. drops unless it is queen #2. Then she may have been cast out and the new queen took over.

On a warm day the queen will take a break and wander around to explore
her environment a bit outside of her normal brood nest.  As long as she know how to
get back to the brood nest she will be fine.   I would not concern too much.  I've seen my
queen wandering on a frame without many bees on it.   She's still o.k. though.  Happily laying!

Of course they do.  Especially if it's cold.  "Usually" is the operative word.
