There is a big swarm in my front yard about 45 feet up in a hickory tree. Rain coming in this afternoon, Monday, and Tuesday. I have placed a deep with 2 frames of drawn comb under them. Put some Lemmon grass oil on a cotton ball in it.
Anyone have further advice on luring them in?

You probably will not catch that one but hang a box in that tree and you have good chance of getting one. The scouts scope out new locations days before the swarm. If they were not so high you could manually put them in a box. They tend to be pretty docile in that state. Not much you can do unless you could get your hands on them.

The bees are still here. Settled in for the evening. I have a bee keeping friend gonna check on them mid morning. The limb they are on is too large for a prunner and too small to hold my weight. I'm too old to fall that far.
I'm thinking the rain might keep them from going too far. If I can't catch them the Good Lord needs bees also.

I so strap the swarm trap up against the tree trunk about 6 feet off the ground. That seems to attract the swarms much better than being on the ground.

The bait hive is strapped to the tree. I think my hive 4 produced this swarm. I also placed a bait hive next to hive 4. It looks like they plan to spend the night in the tree again. Very few scout bees moving. Rain is predicted thru the night the off and on Tuesday.
I will see if they are still around after work Tuesday.

I caught a little swarm today. It was more work then it was worth. I  don't think it is from my hives but not sure. Scooped in a box with frame of brood and eggs. Check to see if they stayed and if I should save my frame of brood. Looked like about 3 frames of bees total with 50 or 100 dead ones on bottom. So they did fight..I spray with lemon grass sugar syrup sometimes to mask smell and keep bees busy cleaning them selves off. Not today. If they look good in few days I'll give another frame of brood. Never found the queen and I looked.
