Ben,
If the comb was placed upside down, the larvae will hatch out. Some people say it will not bee used again. I have also read that they will use it for brood. It cannot bee used for drying nectar. It will drip out.

Makes scene to me. I suppose if someone wanted to make sure a certain comb was to be used for brood and brood alone, this would be the way to do it. Thanks again Jim.

So today I spend 2 hours looking for the queen. The cross combs and hot tub plumbing was just frustrating -
I cut every bit of comb out and smoked two separate times for about 30 minutes total. They tried to fly back in so that?s why the second time. I thought I captured her on the comeba k but it must have just been a fat Drone
I look over to the fence and see they are swarmed. I grab my nuc and shook that small gate into the top. There are still some on that gate but there?s a good portion in the box. Yes I wore socks today. I?ll check it tomorrow.
I did try to locate the queen on the fence but honestly , I?m so over this job but she needs her yard for her dogs so I worked hard today to either catch the queen or shoo them away.
And I think to myself, what a wonderful world
Then all else falls in line

Even if they don't go in the box they will leave after having all their comb removed. Problem is new swarm will move in shortly. The remaining bits and odors will work as swarm lure. Tell her she needs to clean it up and maybe fill the big voids with something. Maybe some fiberglass insulation. Might turn into a part time job.

Ed, I am thinking of this - if I can acquire public land , my business model would charge enough for the hives to make money from the ingredients and not off a cutout/extraction. Several people want bee help but not the price so they spray them. This would save a few more local colonies as well as have extra eyes in the neighborhood looking for swarms!
