When the lid goes back on, the bees will spend the next 3 days undoing most of what the beekeeper just did to them.

I come from under the hill, and under the hills and over the hills my paths led.  And through the air, I am she that walks unseen.

...

HP, are you dumbfounded or are you engaged?

Member, while we are waiting for his answer, I will take a guess. Looks like he is really taking in the information so he can decipher it later?

I found this explanation thorough with backing data:
Dump the chemicals in your hive and enjoy the honey.  The reason I don't treat is because I enjoy not taking pills until I die.  There will always be more bees either way.

Oh, that?s likely. The new Great Debate seems to be what HP meant by his post!  :cheesy:

The article was posted not to elicit whether you treat or not treat, but point out the enormous (time) scale required for bees to evolve/mutate to be varroa resistant. Simply stating "I treat because... or I don't treat because..." does not address the article's contents.

Takes an atheistic view of evolution "random mutation."  Plenty of observers citing plenty of evidence that behaviors/characteristics necessary to survival under pressure of a new parasite have already emerged.

I'm sorry these are links to audio, but that's how I get my news these days :)

Yes this site reports this as well. Random yes, consistent and increasing yes, in time. Michael Bush has bees that do not have varroa and are treatment free and it would be good to know how and when and perhaps offer a why.

Mr Bush is an exceptional beekeeper who is always willing to help and explain.

His site is pretty informative.

And/ or you could make BeeFest 2020 in your plans. (North FL, March sawdustmkr will have details)

Edit: just because a computer code (e.g. compiled C++) isn't human-readable doesn't make it arbitrary; just because genetic mutation isn't human-predictable doesn't make it random.
