Hello from North East Texas!

As a first year beekeeper, I currently have one hive. At a local beekeeper meeting last winter I was told that bees are like potato chips...they were not wrong. I am starting a project to make my own hives from recycled material to populate next spring.

I found this group this morning while researching why to/not paint a hive on the inside. There is a pretty good knowledge-base here and I decided to sign-up.

Normally, I am mostly a lurker on these types of forums. I do not wish to be deleted and was told to post something to prevent my account from being closed.
