We are about 5 miles from the coast of Monterey Bay, temperate Mediterranean climate...freeze is minimal, snow...maybe for 1 hour every 4 years or so...we live in a place called Day Valley, hence the name...and grow dahlias for cut & exhibition blooms...Visited a beautiful local apiary.  After a lot of serious talk about being diligent with beekeeping, these folks were kind enough to give me some 8 frame set ups...I am also going to buy a nuc from them...Appreciate all the varied information this forum has to offer...

Beautiful weather.  You are lucky to live in a valley, for some reason when I hear the word "valley", it brings up some very beautiful pictures in my mind.  I would love to live right down in a valley, with a river running through it, bordered by willows, the picture of a beautiful place to live.  I have seen this valley where I would love to live when we take the long route up to my daughers home, 4 km to the north.  Have a wonderful, beautiful day, great health to all.  Cindi
There are strange things done in the midnight sun by the men who moil for gold.  The Arctic trails have their secret tales that would make your blood run cold.  The Northern Lights have seen queer sights, but the queerest they ever did see, what the night on the marge of Lake Lebarge, I cremated Sam McGee.  Robert Service

Hi Cindi,

I used to drive out here when my children were babies, to calm them, and me...I would dream about buying land and building a house out here...we have been here now for 22 years!  Dream come true..

Bee well

All dreams come true.  You must manifest them.  Try, try, try.  If you can make a dream, it will follow your course.  Beautiful day, good health to all.  Cindi.

What a fine country where we can realize our dreams and make them reality. Your place reminds me of Cuernavaca. Where flowers are grown the weather is always fine.

Cuernavaca..hhhhmmm have to look that up...yup I am a happy girl...and its awfully fun to bee here with bee folk...

DayValleyDahlias.  Do you have any pictures of your dahlia fields (or gardens) that you could post for us to look at.  The pictures take us to places where sometimes we cannot go.  Have the beautiful and wonderful day, good health to us all.  Cindi
