funding for bee research

Does anyone know of any funding proposals for bee research?

What kind of research?

Check with your local bee club. Here in Washington state they're offering funding to get youth started in beekeeping (under 18).

yeah what kind of research? I am going on 5 years with out medication and without being on small cell so we need to know what kinda research?

I'll go for research that compares "natural" beekeeping with "commercial" beekeeping. Or, if you prefer, organic verses chemicals--1st group to suffer CCD looses.

Has any of it been published?

Rember a few years ago, budget cuts got this and that. Now Cal. is cranking their lab back up.
I am sure other people and places like Kieth Deleplane are doing as much as they can to find out what they can about CCD. No offense, But I don't think now is the time to go for Millions in New programs, whitch will have all kind of leaks for the money hungry ones to get on the band wagon just for the $$$'s.

Who do they think they are, when a few years ago we wanted funding for the Honey Bee Programs and they said no. Now something comes along that scares some into thinking that the big funds is the only way to handle it. "Yes" we need research, But not the kind that appears to be coming.

All the funding and research in the world will be no good if the right practice is not carried on, on the spot where it counts.

If they know Migrating the bees is part of the problem, why not build "FIELDS OF BEES" on the location where they're needed.

Mr. Wilbanks told me last week he had no more losses this past season than usual.
I would say he has about as many colonies as any one around this area.

Sorry if I hit any one wrong but, this is how I feel.

Randy Oliver, an author for ABJ solicits funding for bee research. He utilyzes college studenst to assist and he takes suggestions as to what to research as well. He is presently dtermining whther IPM has a significant inpact on mites and other mite remediation ideas.

On the "field of bees" concept, the farmers probably won't go for that unless beekeepers make housecalls during the off-season, right?

If the Bee Keeper doesn't make house calls during off season, then I don't think he's doing his job. JMO
I understand some things that have to be polonated don't give enough necter to feed the bees. Thats where the draw back would come in.
