I've recently inherited some more hives and each hive at at least 2 supers full and ready for extraction. I've put clear-a-board on each one with one way valves and 1 week later... Nothing.. Well apart from alot of dead bees and an equal amount just sitting about eating (and probably thinking the hive is queenless!)

There is no way they could of got in and out through a hole and the valves were in the right way up.

Any ideas for what I'm to do?

I use the triangle escape board and it works fine, as long as you don't put it on upside down.....In two days, only a few bees will remain in the super....

I've never had any luck with the porter bee escapes.  I've had good luck with the triangular bee escapes as long as there is NO brood above the escape.
