Just split a hive, not sure what I need to do now!

But I kinda feel like we should just wait this out and see if the virgin queen makes it back after mating and starts to lay.. If it doesn't work out and htey start making more cells then we might try another split and at that point we would have to supplement a frame of eggs/larvae from our other hive right??

Yes, the opportunity to split has gone by when you first saw the cells.  Now I would wait like others have suggested.  I am not particularly fond of culling cells either, especially when you are a newbie.  I feel the bees are smarter than I when picking out the right one.
