I put 5 or 6 med. supers w\Pierco black frames on some hives about 6 weeks ago.  3 of the hives took to the plastic pretty - mostly drawn and full supers now - they were slow but they got it done.  The other two just haven't done as well - about 1\2 drawn and no honey. All the hives have drawn out several wax foundation supers each but the plastic Piercos are slow to draw....

My question is, can I take the supers from the slow hives and put them on the hives that accepted the Pierco plastic....?  Will be the bees except a super from another hive with a differnet scent on it...   I thought about taking any other supers off the slow hives and try to force them to draw out the Piercos...would that work..?

I had these Piercos and wanted to use them just to have more drawn comb for next yr......I probably won't use anymore undrawn Pierco unless I can figure out how to get the bees to draw'm out....

Yes, there are no problems moving supers from one hive to another

Are you sure the Pierco is the issue and not just that some hives are stronger than others?

All these are pretty strong hives  - not that much difference between them. I'm sure that could have factor in it if one hive was stronger than the other..

LIke I said I did put drawn supers on these hives to try to get them in the mood to work the Piercos - they're all over the drawn supers - maybe they'll move down to the Peircos after the cap the other super on top.  It's just strange that they'd be so slow to work the Piercos...

I made the mistake of buying piercos. Won't do it again. I've got my fingers crossed that they will eventually draw them out.
